About the SWAP Library

Ideas Genie is shipped with a database which is installed on your hard disc. Thats the one you use to add your plants to, link photos to plants and gardens etc (See What does it do!)

The software has a unique feature. You can SWAP to an alternative database on hard disc, CD, or DVD.
This feature opens up a wide range of options. Heres a few examples.

Example 1 You can build your database of plants and photos on one computer and view it in another (e.g. a laptop).Bring the laptop to Plant Society meetings, give talks etc.
Example 2 Specialised databases can be viewed.
Example 3 A MASTER database can be viewed. More later!
Example 4 The eCatalogs of Plant Suppliers can be viewed
Example 5 Plant Society members can SWAP their plant collections or gardens on CD.
Example 6 Members of the Ideas Genie community can SWAP their gardens. This is already happening on the ideasforgardens Forum. The database is caled ForumFriends. Version 2 is planned for distribution for Christmas.

Current SWAP Library items are shown above. You will think of more!

In each of the above examples, the SWAP Library CD does NOT have to be installed.

They are available for you to collect, and collectively, they can be thought of as a SWAP LIBRARY.
