Importing and Upgrading to Ideas Genie Pro 5 Instructions Follow these instructions if you wish to import
your previous data into Ideas Genie Pro 5
Step 1
Treat yourself to an upgrade. Please take care - make sure you choose the appropriate link.
If you have any doubt, please send me an email and I will advise what version you are currently using.

If you are using Ideas Genie Pro 4 - Buy the Upgrade - from Version 4 to 5 Ive made a special offer due to the short space of time since you purchased or upgraded to Version 4
Step 2 When your CD package arrives by post (will include the latest copy of the Master Database)
Do NOT un-install your previous version of Ideas Genie, Ideas Genie Pro or Bonsai Genie. You will need the data files in this upgrade operation.
You may also Import your files from a CD or Flash for upgrading.
Install Ideas Genie 5, OR Ideas Genie Pro 5, OR Bonsai Genie 5 from the CD supplied.
We recommend that you dont change any settings during the installation process. When the software is installed, you will find a new icon on your desktop.
Depending on the BUY option you choose, the icon has the text:- Ideas Genie 5, Ideas Genie Pro 5 OR Bonsai Genie 5 Click the new icon Register the program.
If upgrading from any version of Ideas Genie, a new licence will be provided.
If upgrading from a previous version of Ideas Genie Pro, then use your original Ideas Genie Pro licence number. Get in touch by email if you need a reminder.
Step 3 Download the Import/Upgrade Program
The link to the download program will be sent to you by email, when you place your order for the upgrade (See Step 1) The program name is GA204
Step 4 Import and Upgrade your data files as follows:
Click System Tab on Menu.
Start the program Import and Upgrade - GA204
Click the Help button in the screen which appears and read about the upgrade process.
The folder settings (new and old) should be correct.
Click the Do Test button. The program tests the files you are importing. You should get a message indicating that the files are OK
Click the Start the Upgrade button The program does the import and upgrade.
In one step, data from your OLD installation is imported into the Version 5 environment, then upgraded.
