Question My screen has frozen. I was running an Ideas Genie program and got the message "System Error"

If the system stalls at any time leaving you with a “frozen” or “ghost” screen which cannot be cleared, do this:-

Case a) The menu bar shows a “System” tab.

Simply click on the “System” tab and and click on Exit. Ideas Genie will shut down. (You can re-start the program again in the usual way).

Case b) The menu bar does NOT show a “System” tab

Click HERE and follow the same procedure described for “Cannot Quit Visual Foxpro”.

More About Frozen Screens

Frozen screens can be caused by a number of reasons e.g. memory problems, device problems and of course, software problems.

Frozen screens may occur after receiving the message 'System Error'.

Note that Ideas Genie closes ALL its files when it issues a "System Error" message, so you don’t have to worry about losing information.

The methods described above may get you out of trouble in other Frozen Screen situations when you are using other systems (no system is perfect!)
