Link Photos - Program GA630
 

Starting the program
On the Main Menu, click the Programs tab then click:

In this section

About the program
This program is designed to allow you to sort through a mixture of photos taken on a photo shoot which have been downloaded into a folder.
The program allows you to list and view the entire contents of the folder.
You then decide what you want to do with each photo.

The options are:

  1. Link a photo to a Garden Area
  2. Link a photo to a plant

Option 1 - Link a photo to a garden area
Referring to Screenshot GA630S01-5 select a photo of a garden area.
Then click on the Garden Photo button

Linking to a specimen of a plant
Screen GA630S03 is a Pageframe.
It has two pages - Photo Details and Specimens.
Referring to Screenshot GA630S03-3 learn how to alternate between these 2 pages.
Then click on the Specimens tab to continue this exercise.
The Specimens page appears:

Click on a specimen and click the Select button
The Photo Details page reappears.

with the specimen selected. Click Link button to finish the task.

The Rename button
Referring to Screenshot GA630S01-5 select a photo which you’d like to rename.
Click the Rename button.

Edit the New Name field as shown in the screenshot.
Then click the Rename button.

NOTE 1:
You may use the various controls in screen GA100S87 to help you generate a new File Name.
NOTE2:
Ideas Genie will fail to link to a file name which has a space immediately before the full stop.
Use the Remove Spaces button to find and remove the offending space.

Re-pointing linked photos when a folder has been moved or renamed
Sometimes you may rename a folder or move it to a new location.
Photos which you have linked to these folders become disconnected.
Heres how to reconnect the photos to their new folder name or location.

  • In the initial screen, click on the Find folders with photos tab

  • This step is optional but its worth point out that the Calculate Usage feature is good for showing folders which are disconnected.

    Check the checkbox Show folder first
    then Check the checkbox Prefix with Drive
    then click the button Calculate Usage
  • The display now looks like this:

    As indicated, RIGHT click on the line you wish to fix
    Then click the Edit selected path button

    Click the Get a folder button.
    Browse your computer and find the new location of this disconnected folder.
    Then click the Change button.
    Job done

Tip: While in screen GA100S62 above, clicking the Show button brings up screen GA196S03
