User Guide - Vegetables Project
Editing a Task

Refer to the Screen Map for the program Tasks - GA047

Test Screenshot (Test only - has a link when you mouse over GA047S09)

To edit your Task Notes

  • In GA047S01, click the Edit Task button
  • Screen GA047S03 appears
    Screenshot
  • You can type or paste data into the Task Notes field
  • Click the Change button

To edit a Task date
This is a little bit tricky, since every time you click the Calendar control, the program assumes you are ADDING a new date

You can have multiple Dates for a task.
However, in my groundwork for this Vegetables Project, multiple dates (e.g. for a second sowing) is unsuitable for our application, due to the Events we wish to record later in the project.
Basically, the rule is - only use Multiple Dates within one task when absolutely necessary.
One example is a Spray program for Roses.

We are restricting our task to ONE date. If that date slips, you need to reschedule
Heres how to change a Task Date

  • In GA047S01, click the Dates/Notes button
  • Screen GA047S04 appears
    Screenshot on entry
Note the caption which says Existing Task Date (its just above the Alert Days field)
  • Heres the button sequence to change the date:
  • 1) Click a date on the Calendar Control
Use the calendar control to change to a different month if necessary
Note how the caption now says NEW Task Date
    Screenshot
In this exercise, we dont want to add a new task date, we wish to change the existing date
  • 2) Click the task date in the Task Do Dates/Alert Days list
This puts this date (and our task notes, and our Alert Days) into Edit mode
    Screenshot
  • 3) Click the Arrow which points left inside the Change Task Date box
    This saves our Task Date

To edit your Date Notes and/or your Alert Days
Its the same screens as described for changing a Task Date

  • In GA047S01, click the Dates/Notes button
  • Screen GA047S04 appears
    Screenshot
  • Click the task date in the Task Do Dates/Alert Days list
This puts this date (and our task notes, and our Alert Days) into Edit mode
  • Edit your notes, or edit your Task Days
  • Click the Save button
This saves a) any editing you have done to your Date Related Notes and b) any change you have made to the Alert Days

To delete a Task Date

  • In GA047S01, click the Dates/Notes button
  • Screen GA047S04 appears
  • For this exercise, we will create a second (dummy) Task date, then describe how to delete it
    Screenshot
  • 1) Click on a new date in the Date control
  • 2) Enter some text in the Date Notes field (optional)
  • 3) Click the Save button
  • We now have two Task Date records

Now to delete that 2nd Task Date record as a demonstration

  • Click the task date in the Task Do Dates/Alert Days list
This puts this Task Date record into Edit mode
    Screenshot
  • Click the button with the Trash Can icon
  • You are asked to Confirm that you wish to delete the record
  • Click Yes
  • Task Date will be deleted
